Chelsea Cameron

Serving a country full of flawed systems slowly eats away at a man. The domino effect of one person's crime going unpunished burns deeply.

He's no saint.

Gentry 'Deacon' Hawkins is an all-American hero. He went from the star athlete to the elite of the Navy SEALs. When a mission went bad, costing the innocent lives of his team and some civilians, he was forever changed. Riding with the Devil's Due MC is the only peace he has found since getting out of the military.

She's not afraid to call herself a sinner.

Tempest Adams spends her every waking moment serving others. She has given her life to provide a safe haven for women and children while they rebuild their lives. At the end of every day she finds both satisfaction in her life and loneliness.

However, danger lurks in her world, under her roof.

Will Deacon put his anger aside? Can Tempest swallow her pride and ask for help? When everything comes to a head, will Deacon be the hero Tempest needs to save her or will he be too late?

Love, hate, anger, and passion collide as the time comes, and the devil demands his due.

↬↬↬REVIEW↫↫↫

Deacon is an American hero; a star NAVY SEAL.  Tempest Adams lives her life to protect others, including her daughter.  When it comes to Deacon, it was nothing more than fun.  Neither one was looking for anything more but but sometimes what you really need is right in front of you.

Deacon’s life in the NAVY revealed a grim reality to him but gave him the skills that the Devil’s Due MC uses.  Tempest was handed a hand that she didn’t want but there is no way she would have ever turned her back on her friend when she was in need.  It is hard to imagine what they experienced but together they lean perfectly into each other.  There is a whole lot of heartache in the past for both Deacon and Tempest.

This was a quick read and a little lust to insta love.  It is book 5 in the series but can be read as a standalone.  There are some moments that are dark and maybe hard to read but also some light hearted moments, especially pertaining to nicknames.  Godzilla? The theme of the book is really about being you, standing up for what you believe in.  It is about overcoming and being you.  That is what Deacon learned along time ago and he helps teach that to Tempest and her daughter.  When the past comes back, Tempest learns that she finally has someone to lean on to keep her safe rather than her alone.

Also, Trapper has some moments that make you very curious as to what is in store the oddball.
