Escape -- Jay Crownover

ESCAPE
Getaway Series #3

Jay Crownover

Everything inside of him is screaming that he needs to run, he needs to go, he needs to escape.

Lane Warner is used to being overshadowed and overlooked.
After all, he’s the youngest brother and the most laid back one in the family. He’s the one known for going with the flow and not making waves, even when things seem to be at their worst.
Very few things in life have had the ability to rile Lane up and get under his skin. At the top of that list is his childhood friend Brynn Fox…no…Brynn Warner. The fact that they share a last name was the one thing that has the power to light him up and spin him out of control like no other. There was no calm, cool and collected when it comes to all the reasons why Brynn had to become part of his family.
It’s slowly killing him to keep wanting what he can’t have, so Lane sees only one way to stop himself from doing something they’ll both regret…he has to leave.
Everything inside of her is calling out to find him, to follow, to bring him home.
Brynn Warner is used to being stuck between a rock and a hard place.
After all, she’s the daughter of an unrepentant gold-digger who never once blinked at being the cause of her daughter’s pain and suffering.
Very few things in her life have ever brought happiness and a sense of security. At the very top of that list is Lane Warner. She has unwaveringly loved the youngest Warner since the first minute she laid eyes on him. He was everything Brynn ever wanted and everything she knew she could never have.
Sometimes the right choice is the one that hurts the most and Brynn’s had to make a few that felt like they might be the end of her.
When Lane takes off, one thing is clear, the only choice Brynn has is to go after him.
She’s going to bring her wayward cowboy home….whatever it takes.
Escape is a standalone novel, the third book in the Getaway series, which features the hardheaded and brokenhearted Warner brothers and the women who dare to love them. These boys are very good at putting the wild in wilderness.

🐴Blog Review🐴

"I think (the) first love is important because it shows you how strongly you can feel about another person, both good and bad.  Then I believe there is a forever kind of love which is the love that simply feels right.  It's the kind that you know was meant to be yours all along."

Brynn Warner grew up to a mother than had no motherly qualities and was more concerned
about her own well beings than her children.  The only happiness she has ever felt has been
thanks to the Warner family.  Though her freedom did ultimately come at price.  Her name was
dragged through the mud frequently.  She lost her best friend/first love but she and her sister
were safe.  Lane would have given everything to safe Brynn but just like her, he was just a teen.
Lane and Brynn spent years after tip toeing around each others broken heart unknowingly till it finally
hit a breaking point.

I love the sweet but “mama bear” attitude that Brynn has and that personality compliments the
family man that Lane was born to be. The previous two books had me already yelling at both Brynn
and Lane to get their act together. Their story has been a long time in the making.  It just took a reality
check in the form of a proposal to get them both moving in the right direction towards one another
instead of hiding away.  Lane and Brynn have the natural chemistry together than both Cy and Sutton
had to develop with their significant others.  Once they were putting the past where it should be,
everything was natural.  The problems that arose in their story were outside of their relationship
but in the problematic situation that they find themselves in.

I was excited but sad to start this book.  Escape is Lane Warner’s book, the baby Warner.  The last
of the Warner brothers to have their story told but the most anticipated for me.   Their story was
slowly building up through Retreat and Shelter.  Jay had you feeling much like what the Warner family
most likely felt when it came to Brynn and Lane, finally!

I was not ready to let go of this family and leave the Ranch and the Warner’s but by the end of the
book I saw a slight glimmer of hope that we may not have to leave the Warner Ranch behind after all.
The Warner’s have found their happily ever after but I am sure there are more stories to be told from
the Warner Ranch.

Meet the two older Warner brothers, Cy and Sutton, in RETREAT and SHELTER.
